Find the record of your trip pack purchase

Phrazl charges once for a trip pack, so there is no monthly invoice to chase: what you are looking for is the record of one payment. This article shows where that record lives, what it holds, and what to do when the amount on it is not the one you expected.

What this article helps with

You bought a trip pack and now you need the paperwork: for an expenses claim, for your own records, or because the amount you were charged is not the amount you expected.

Two things are worth knowing before you go looking. Stripe is the service that takes the card payment for a trip pack, and it collects your billing address at checkout to work out UK VAT. Purchases are open to customers in the United Kingdom for now.

What Phrazl itself holds about a payment is a purchase record: the Stripe checkout session and payment intent ids, the amount, and the status for that trip pack. It holds those so the pack you bought unlocks, so the returning traveller discount can be applied, and so a pack can be re-locked if Stripe refunds the payment. That purchase record is what this article points you at.

Finding the record of a purchase

  1. Sign in and open your account screen

Sign in with the email address and password you used when you bought the pack. Email and password is how Phrazl signs you in, and your purchases sit on the account screen behind that sign-in.

  2. Find the pack in your purchases

The account screen lists the trip packs you own. There is a separate article in this help centre on reading that screen in full, including which trips it shows as unlocked.

  3. Download the record if you need it off the screen

The same account screen downloads a JSON file of everything held about you, and that includes your purchase records: the Stripe checkout session and payment intent ids, the amount and the status for each trip pack.

  4. Check the amount against the price you were quoted

A trip pack is £6.99 once and the full bundle is £16.99 once. If you had already bought a pack, £3 comes off your next destination at checkout, making that pack £3.99.

  5. Send a support request if it does not match

Support requests go from the account screen. They exist for exactly this: to fix purchase problems and refund a pack that did not unlock what it named.

What a Phrazl charge can be

What you paid forAmountHow often
Free previewFreeNo payment is taken, so no purchase record is created
Trip pack£6.99Once, for one destination and up to three of the five scenarios
Full bundle£16.99Once, covering all ten languages and all five scenarios
A second destination after a trip pack£3.99Once, with the £3 returning traveller discount applied at checkout

If the record is wrong or missing

Email support@phrazl.com. Every message sent there lands in the support desk, and so does anything you send from the support form on your account screen. Say which destination the pack was for and the amount you were charged, and quote the Stripe checkout session id from your data export if you have it to hand. That is the quickest route to a fix.

Before you delete anything

Deleting your whole account removes your trips, review history, purchase records, support requests and paywall answers in one transaction, so take the JSON export first if you want the payment details afterwards. Stripe retains its own payment records as required by law, which is separate from what Phrazl holds.

If the pack never unlocked the trip it named, that is a purchase problem rather than a paperwork problem, and support is still the place to raise it.

Questions

Who takes the payment when I buy a trip pack?

Stripe takes the card payment for a trip pack and collects your billing address at checkout to work out UK VAT. Purchases are open to customers in the United Kingdom for now.

Is there a VAT invoice I can download?

What Phrazl holds and can hand you is the purchase record: the Stripe checkout session and payment intent ids, the amount and the status for that trip pack, in the JSON export on your account screen. If an expenses claim needs something more formal, email support@phrazl.com and say what it needs.

Will I be charged again next month?

No. A trip pack is £6.99 once and the full bundle is £16.99 once. There is no recurring charge, so there is no second payment and nothing to cancel.

Is there a receipt for the free preview?

No, because nothing is charged. The free preview covers the first 20 phrases of one trip you have set up, with no payment taken and so no purchase record created.

My second pack cost less than the first. Is that right?

Yes, if you already owned a trip pack. £3 comes off your next destination at checkout, so that pack is £3.99, and the amount on your purchase record will show it.

I deleted a trip. Where did its payment record go?

Deleting a single trip from that trip's edit screen removes the trip and its review history. Purchase records go when the whole account goes, so take the JSON export from your account screen first if you want the payment details kept.

Does the amount I paid tell me what I own?

It is a strong hint, but the account screen is the better answer: it lists the trip packs you own alongside the amounts. There is an article in this help centre on reading that screen.

Set up the trip you have booked

Pick where you are going and when you leave, choose up to three scenarios, and work through the first twenty phrases before you pay anything.
